Overview

Your SQL says what you want; the engine decides how. This seminar opens that decision – the plan, the estimates behind it and the levers that change it – then asks the question every team is now asking out loud: how much of this can an AI agent do for me? The honest answer depends entirely on what you let it see. Three parts, each worth attending on its own. Part 1 Takes you from SQL text to a plan tree you can read and cost, ending on the join algorithms behind most of it. Part 2 Is the levers: what an index really costs, how to design one the planner will use, when partitioning pays and the estimates that decide all of it. Part 3 Is the AI part: why a model reading only your query text guesses, what evidence turns it into an analyst, the read-only MCP tool surface, the agentic tuning loop and what an agent may and may not do to production.

Who Should Attend

    • Developers who write SQL, data engineers, DBAs and leads
    • Anyone told “the query is slow” who wants to answer with evidence rather than a hunch
    • Teams deciding how far to trust an AI agent with their database

Prerequisites

    • Fluent SQL skills required; SQL fundamentals will not be covered
    • Familiarity with basic data structures (arrays, hash tables, trees)
    • No AI-agent or MCP experience required

About the Seminar

Your SQL says what you want; the engine decides how.
This seminar opens that decision - the plan, the estimates behind it and the levers that change it - then asks the question every team is now asking out loud: how much of this can an AI agent do for me? The honest answer depends entirely on what you let it see.
Three parts, each worth attending on its own.
